I'm new to MS3 and using it with guitar. When I select a patch, the clean sound of my guitar comes through even with the master volume on zero. Turn up the master volume and I have the sound of the patch along with my clean sound. Can anyone fix this

I'm new to MainStage3 and using it with guitar. When I select a patch, the clean sound of my guitar comes through clearly even with the master volume on zero. Turn up the master volume and I have the sound of the patch along with my clean sound coming through loud and clear. Anyone know how to fix this?

Thanks. I don't think it's got anything to do with the interface, for two reasons. 1) I've just changed my interface from an M-box to a Scarlet, and it's done the same thing for both. 2) I've also used both these interfaces on GarageBand and the problem doesn't exist there. So the problem seems to be related to MainStage 3, rather than the interface.

If you hear the clean guitar even with the MS master volume turned down, it is unlikely that the problem is within MS itself.

As a test, go to Mainstage>Preferences>Audio

Change the output device to the Mac Built-in Audio.

Do you still hear the clean guitar signal from the Mac?

Do you have some other audio application running alongside MainStage?

Thanks. I changed it to the Mac built in audio. I still hear the guitar when the master volume is down. Comes through loud and clear. There's no other audio application running, just MS3.

As I mentioned previously, I only have this problem with MS3, and not with GarageBand. With GB, I use the same guitar, the same leads, the same interface/s, and only get the modified guitar sound. With MS3, I get the modified guitar sound plus the clean sound.

SInce this happens in MS3 and not in GB using all the same equipment, then that would indicate (logically, at least) that the problem is in MS3, and that there's some setting in there I need to change. If not, I can't think of any reasonable explanation as to why the same problem isn't occurring in GB also.
