Hello x_andyturner,
Thanks for asking about your notifications here in the Apple Support Communities. I am happy to help offer some information about this.
The first thing we want to ensure is that all your data is safe. You can make a backup of your iPhone in iCloud or iTunes using this article : How to back up your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch.
Then, according to the help article here: Notifications on your Apple Watch, it states "If your iPhone is unlocked, you'll get notifications on your iPhone, instead of your Apple Watch. If your iPhone is locked or asleep, you'll get notifications on your Apple Watch, unless your Apple Watch is locked with your passcode." There is a section to check if you are not receiving any notifications on your Apple Watch at all titled "If you don't see notifications on your Apple Watch".
You may also need to look into adjusting the haptic response of your Apple Watch so that you can be more easily notified when the Notifications do come in. More information can be found here:Adjust brightness, text size, sounds, and haptics - Apple Watch User Guide
Thanks again for seeking help here in Apple Support Communities. Have a great rest of your day. -
Oct 15, 2016 1:40 PM in response to x_andyturnerby Meg St._Clair,Are you not getting your notifications on your watch? Or are you just not hearing/feeling them? From your description, it sounds as you've got Wrist Detection disabled which should mean you get notifications on both devices.

Oct 15, 2016 2:45 PM in response to Eric~Fby x_andyturner,I already have the haptic turned up 100%. I put the rate at 60-70% that I get on my watch. Some just don't show up on my watch. I want to get them on both, when my phone is locked. This problem is new with the latest serries of ios10 updates.

Oct 15, 2016 4:03 PM in response to x_andyturnerby Meg St._Clair,The only way to get notifications on both devices when the phone is locked is to turn off Wrist Detection in the Watch app on your phone. That also means that your watch will be locked unless you unlock it with a passcode and you won't be able to use Apple Pay with your watch.
