Q: Text size in Mail app

Ever since upgrading to iOS 10 on a iPhone 6 the text in the mail app is tiny.   The iPhone has the font size increased to make the text easier to read ( its a age thing ) but the text in the mail app is half or less in size and difficult to read.  The two different way suggested on some posts does't seem to affect the text in the mail app - Settings Brightness and Display - Text size  or General - accessibility larger text.  It would seem a setting for mail app would be required for this.

    Hey there Billatwork!

From your post, it seems you're unable to increase the font size in the Mail app on your iPhone 6 on iOS 10. I'm suffering from age issues myself and I'll be glad to help.

How to back up your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch -- Before beginning any troubleshooting, I always recommend a fresh backup to keep your personal information safe.

Force an app to close on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch -- First, make sure the Mail app is closed then  Restart your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch -- I tested this on my iPhone, and increasing the font size under Settings > Brightness & Display did change the font size of my emails. (Great job trying that). So it's simply an issue of finding what's going on with your iPhone. Restarting is a tried and true troubleshooting step when working with electronics. Never underestimate the power of a good restart.

Reset iPhone settings -- Be sure to write down your Wi-Fi networks/passwords before starting. On your phone, go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings. This step will return your iPhone's settings to factory default. Set up your Mail account again and see if the font size has increased. If resetting your phone fixed the issue, you can use the backup to restore them. If the issue returns, reset all settings again then manually set things back up one at a time testing between each.

Let me know how that goes and thanks for using Apple Support Communities!

    Cheers!

I have seen a number of posts with similar issues.   It would seem prior to iOS 10 the problem was not there but after upgrading to iOS 10 the problem has occurred.   One person was thinking that the font Microsoft uses does not exist in iOS10 and the result is a tiny font.   We use MS Exchange corporately so everyone using Outlook Mac or PC will be affected by this glitch.    We had tried the few ways Apple gives to increase the font but they don't seem to work on this particular issue.

    Thanks for the response.
