Restore normal OS 10.11.6 system sound prefs after uninstalling Boom 2?

I'm running OS 10.11.6 on a classic mac pro. Recently I installed Boom 2 demo and then used the included uninstaller to uninstall Boom 2. After Boom 2 had been uninstalled I noticed that the system preferences for sound was missing "internal speakers" option.

How can I restore system sound prefs to normal options. Why is there no "internal speakers" option in sound prefs? How do I fix this and choose "internal speakers" output.

Mac Pro, OS X El Capitan (10.11.6), 16 GB RAM, Boot 250GB SSD

Hello Thomas Camilleri,
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.

I understand from your post that after uninstalling Boom 2 your audio settings in system preferences no longer provide you with the internal speaker's option. I know how important it is to be able to select internal speakers for your sound option. In a situation like this, I recommend resetting the NVRAM and also restarting in safe mode. The following articles will provide you with the steps:

Try safe mode if your Mac doesn‘t finish starting up

Best Regards.
