Q: Blinking folder icon since sierra upgrade

HEllo

I upgraded to sierra overnight. In the morning, my iMac ventilator was  noisy, the screen blank  with a blinking folder in the middle. Cannot do anything but switched it off. When starting again, the same happens. I am completely blocked. Any clue to help me?
