Now my iPhone 6s which used to shut off automatically at 36% shuts off automatically at 52%. And when you try to do an emergency restart it shows that it needs charging. What is going on??? Is this an isolated case of a bad phone or is this more general than we know??? And what is wrong???

i experienced this since last year. i bought mine cotober 2015, then winter came december and whenever i use my iphone outside cold temperature from 10 degrees (its not even that cold) it shutsdown even if its more than 50% battery and when you power on, it shows it needs charging. but i didnt bother to send it right away not until april 2016 when im already so frustrated of it so i send it to my wireless carrier where i bought it, NOTHING WRONG found out. then it began to be warmer because of summer june - september, then again october now beginning winter, it started again but my warranty is already over. It's so hopeless. Im so frustrated im just switching to galaxy note 7.
The Note 7 is so dangerous that Samsung removed it from sale, I don't think you should buy one.
In my case it has nothing to do with temperature. I'm pretty sure of that. It is at least 50'F everywhere I have been. It started about two weeks ago...with a friend of mines 6sPlus as well..at just the same time as mine. Then it was 36% and shut off. Now it is 52% and shut down. A phone should work for more than a year (mine is just about one year old as well). We aren't asked to fix our cars when they don't work. Why should we have to fix our phones...and why don't they work?? It is bizarre and very frustrating. Maybe it is a ploy to force us into iphone 7??? Anyway, I need help. A phone should be reliable and not temperamental.
mine is temperature related. it was not too much maybe once a week from june to august. now that winter is beginning it became 1-3x a day and since i work outdoors much, it can be as much as everytime i take it out of my pocket when im outside. its so hopeless.
I have the exact same problem! I tried everything from calibrating the battery to restoring from backup to restoring as new phone from DFU mode and still the same problem.
The only workaround is to never auto lock or manually lock your screen. Your screen will indefinitely light up but I lowered the brightness all the way down to get a longer battery life and brighten it again whenever I need to use it. Unless your phone is under warranty, this is the only way to go forward without the auto shut down.
oh no i meant 7 edge not note 7 hehe. my brother use 7 edge, i like the camera of it, takes better pictures, but im so used in ios interface :/
I also have this issue, and i know about two other with 6s with the same problem.
One of them got a new battery from Apple but it still not good.
What should we do with this issue?
Guess Apple know about it?
Have someone been in contact with Apple?
I have no idea if Apple is aware of it our not. Will go to the apple store either tomorrow or tuesday. I'll bet they feign ignorance..but we shall see.
