Q: Syncing iPhone 5 ios 10.0.2 with Macbook OS X 10.6.8

I've recently upgraded my iPhone 5 to ios 10.0.2. Since then, it has not been able to sync with my MacBook OS X 10.6.8 on iTunes and iPhoto. Is it a compatibility issue? What can be done?

iPhone 5, iOS 10.0.2

iOS 10.x requires iTunes 12.5, which requires OS X 10.9.5 or higher. You're not going to be able to sync your phone to your Mac unless you upgrade (if your Mac supports it). The only real alternative is to install Windows 7 or higher using BootCamp or virtualization, and sync with iTunes for Windows.

Thank you for your reply. My MacBook can no longer support OS X 10.9.5. It is 6 years old, the last of the series of MacBook White.

    Time passes quickly ...

Your MacBook would have to be from early 2009 or earlier, which is now at least seven years old.  If it were six years old (from late 2010), it could indeed support later versions of OS X (and even MacOS Sierra).
