iWork Pages Move Anchor Point for Objects Set to Move With Text

So this article defines the invisible object Anchor.

Pages for Mac: View formatting symbols and layout in a Pages document

This article states for Reposition an object anchored to text that I can Drag the object or its marker to the text you want to associate the object with.

Pages for Mac 5.0: Objects overview

My issue is I can't seem to grab the marker. I can grab the space or letter before or after the marker and drag that to a new location but doing so only seems to push the anchor down one line in the paragraph.

I want my anchor (marker) to be at the beginning of my paragraph. Right now it's randomly placed in the paragraph. As I make edits the paragraph spans pages and then pulls the anchored object to a new page.

Is there a way to set the marker to be at the beginning of the paragraph?

Thanks

As with many things to do with Pages 5, Apple hasn't tried it and appears to not use it.

Don't be too surprised that it is just another of a very long list of things that don't work, or don't work as they are assumed to work by Apple.

The best I have ever been able to do with the anchor point is what you have experienced, drag the object and have it randomly skitter the marker about in the text.

Just more frustration and why I don't bother with Pages 5 except to create the odd graphic with its drawing tools that I then export to Pages '09 where they do not cause endless lag or spinning beachballs.
