Q: Does it worth to upgrade?

MacBook Air OS X Mountain Lion, Autumn 2012

Intel Core i7, 2GHz / 8GB 1600 MHz DDR3 / Intel HD Graphics 4000 512MB

Last update ... long time ago OSX10.8.5 (12F2560)

My Macbook Air still functions brilliantly.

Concerns about vulnerability and hacks, if no upgrades.

Do I need to upgrade to Sierra at all?

MacBook Air, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.4)

I don't know that you need to but my base model (i5, 4GB, 128GB) mid-2012 MacBook Air works extremely well with MacOS Sierra.

One possible vulnerability with running OS X 10.8.5 is that the last Safari version for that was 6.2.8 and that is now over 1 year old.
