Oct 15, 2016 1:00 PM in response to dnall244by léonie,In Photos for Mac you can save the slideshow as a video file - just click the "Export" button.
If you want the video to play in a DVD player, you need authoring software to burn a video DVD, for example iDVD, if you still have it installed or Burn.
To burn the video DVD see the links below:

Oct 15, 2016 1:34 PM in response to léonieby dnall244,when I click Export, there is no option to Save as slideshow.
I have burned to a dvd before and remember it being simple, but not seeing it this time.
I have also gone through sending it to iTunes to get to burn to dvd, but that was before iPhotos switched to Photos, I think.
What am I missing/

The "Export" button in the Slideshow panel in Photos will save the slideshow as a video. There are no other options to save the slideshow.
The different video format options are at the bottom of the Export window:
By default the video will be saved in the Movies folder, but you can select a different folder in the Finder.
If you burn the folder as as DVD, it will be a data DVD with the video. To create a video DVD you still need authoring software like iDVD.
