Text messages are being sent in English but other people are saying they are in Cheinse. I have checked the settings to make sure my keyboard was on English and rebooted it.

Hi. I answered a question the had the same problem as yours a few days ago. my answer was:

(not sure on why that is happening, though since I'm in hk, is wouldn't really be so bad.

but try this.

1) checking your setting for language or keyboard

2) check which of the contacts this happens too. maybe there is a setting problem on those contact alone... or is it randomly doing to all different contacts every time

3) reinstall iOS - backup and restore to factory setting then return data.

Also try checking you iCloud settings if your contacts are stored there.

I see you tried rebooting.. does that mean restarting the iPhone or something further? you could try what i recommended to the other user, might help as she hasn't replied with any further problems. Also, I just notice too that we can now add other applications during our iMessage or sms. example, Ive added a translation app to help translate message, as i do receive chinese messages due to me being in a Chinese city. check if you have installed this apps and if they are translating for you by accident with your knowlegde.

But your safest bet, is to reinstall the iOS of your device and see if it persist.
