Q: how to disable stereo speaker

I don't like how the new stereo speaker (the one that uses the earpiece) makes the screen vibrate. Is there a way to disable that speaker?

iPhone 7 Plus, iOS 10.0.2

Hi

 

To direct sound through only one speaker:

 

  • Go to: Settings > General > Accessibility.
  • Scroll down to the audio volume balance slider and move it fully to the left or right.
  • You may also wish to enable Mono Audio (in the section above the slider).

 

With the slider set fully to the right, for example:

 

  • In portrait mode, music plays only from the receiver / earpiece speaker.
  • In landscape mode, music plays only from the bottom speaker.
