Oct 16, 2016 9:21 AM in response to paulo555by SiHancox,Same also for me with Preview, although the "Services" option is still available it's headed "No Services Apply" and only gives you the option to click on "Services Preferences". When that window opens you get several options under different headings (Pictures, Messaging, Development etc) but none that seem to apply for Preview!

Oct 16, 2016 10:39 AM in response to paulo555by VikingOSX,Services only become available when they are enabled in the System Preferences : Keyboard panel : Shortcuts : Services list, and you actually have selected text in that document opened in Preview, or other Cocoa applications.
The key to Services is something must be selected in the currently displayed document.

Oct 16, 2016 11:11 AM in response to VikingOSXby paulo555,Yes, I know that! As SiHancox mentioned in Preview>Services appears "No Services Apply", but in contextual menu (when you select text and right-click) no "Services" item available!
As you can see I'm not the only one with this problem: Services menu is empty in Sierra Preview App

Oct 16, 2016 11:40 AM in response to VikingOSXby SiHancox,Think that is the issue, there appears to be no way to enable any services for Preview from with in System Preferences : Keyboard panel : Shortcuts : Services - below is screen shot showing nothing is available even when text is highlighted.
Looking through the services list it doesn't seem to have anything specific for use within Preview and the ones already ticked for other Apps don't appear to work - which is different to Safari which has the following:
Just can't seem to get any services to appear for Preview no matter what is ticked - or am I missing something!

Oct 16, 2016 12:03 PM in response to SiHancoxby paulo555,I'm not sure about that. I use some apps/tools that had worked with the pdf readers like Preview, Skim, etc.
As example, I use Devonthink and Excerptor. As you can see in the image on this link (from the tool excerptor), there are many services available on Preview app to Devonthink and Excerptor!

In my case, all these services are activated on system preferences!
Here we talk about Preview, but in many others pdf reader apps - like Skim, Devonthink, etc. (with exception of the Acrobat that never work with "Services") - I recently found the same problem!
Considering the recent problems with the PDFKit on macOS sierra, maybe this is another one!
