Sierra - Software Update Question

I just updated to macOS Sierra. In my previous OS, there used to be "Software Updates" listed in the Apple menu under the Apple icon. How do we find out in Sierra what updates we need?

MacBook Pro (13-inch Late 2011), Mac OS X (10.7.2)

Thank you. I just found the updates, but I received this message when I tried to download them: This update is not available for this Apple ID either because it was bought by a different user or the item was refunded or cancelled.

I tried going to the terminal and typing in "sudo software update --clear-catalog" but that didn't help. I also tried typing in "open $TMPDIR../C/ in the terminal" I then deleted the "com.apple.appstore" directory. That didn't help either. I'm still getting the same error message. Any ideas as to why I can't download my needed software updates?
