I can't figure out a way to transfer my MPEG-4 audio files from my computer into iTunes! I've been trying for a while, yet I can't figure out how to do it! *NOTE* these are actual songs, and not videos.

Drop a copy into <Media Folder>\Automatically Add to iTunes. If iTunes can process the file it will be added to the library, otherwise it will be moved into a Not Added folder inside Automatically Add to iTunes. It won't tell you what the issue is, but at least you'll know there is one rather than wondering if your request is just being ignored.
