Enable Internet Sharing in Mac OS X to Turn Your Mac Into a Wireless ...
osxdaily.com/2012/01/05/enable-internet-sharing-mac-os-x/Jan 5, 2012 - Internet Sharing works for nearly all versions of Mac OS X, from 10.6, to OS X 10.7 ... Mac will
broadcast a wifi signal that can be used by another Mac, PC, iPad, ... There is only a wired internet connection
(ethernet) available, and you ... at this point, whether it's another Mac, a Windows PC, linux box, XBox, ...
How to share Internet connection on a mac | MacTip
www.mactip.net/share-internet-connection-mac/Aug 9, 2012 - Mac OS X has a built-in Internet Sharing function that can be a real life saver ...
to the Internet over Wi-Fi, and I need to get my Windows desktop PC
Another option may be to use Help in the OS X to see if 'share wifi' or 'create
wifi hotspot' bring anything useful because that is like a search engine. As an
OS gets older sometimes the Help viewer does not provide as useful results.
Hopefully you can make the Mac be seen as an internet sharing hot spot;
although it must be left in throughout the duration for this to function. Wi-Fi
does not work on a Mac when it goes to sleep; and also can be slower than
expected if the shared use of the local source has limited bandwidth.
Good luck & happy trails!

Oct 16, 2016 10:04 AM in response to K Shafferby noahbecerra,Thank you for the helpful information.
Do you know how I could actually make this work on Windows 98 SE? I set up Internet Sharing in the Sharing tab in System Preferences correctly but I'm still not getting a connection on Windows 98. My Ethernet cable is in good working condition and my Windows computer's LAN/Ethernet port is working.
Am I doing something wrong?
Thanks.

Oct 17, 2016 2:23 AM in response to noahbecerraby K Shaffer,One of the details that may pertain to this lack of connectivity
could be the web wireless security protocol, such as WEP, or
WPA; some older hardware didn't use the later secure setting
so you'd have to test to see if by changing the security or to
temporarily turn off wireless security, if that allows connections.
Not sure how to further troubleshoot other than recheck & reset
the correct settings; or if you venture to change them, be sure
you unlock them with your admin password, then set them again.
Here's an article about connecting wi-fi & settings... with later Windows.
Although newer than Windows 98, it could be helpful for that side:
• Windows Vista Tip: How To Setup And Connect To A Wireless Network
http://www.watchingthenet.com/windows-vista-tip-how-to-setup-and-connect-to-a-wi reless-network.html
Other generic wireless setting topics may not address the details...
...using one computer as a wi-fi hot spot; or to use it as source for
internet over Ethernet. You have to be sure the settings in Mac are
correct to supply the Windows either type of internet connection.
The second link supplied in earlier reply, seems to have best ideas.
Local time is about 1:20 AM so I'm not here for long before going
offline; hadn't looked into this earlier due to other entanglements.
Perhaps someone may see your thread now early Monday is in this region.
Good luck in any event...!
