Universal Clipboard working only one-way between Mac and iPhone 7 Plus.
Hello. Is anyone else having this problem? If so, how did you fix it?
First, I'm not sure whether this would be considered a Mac or an iPhone problem so I'll start here and re-post if necessary.
Universal Clipboard, and occasionally Handoff, does not work reliably or consistently between my MacBook Pro and iPhone devices.
If I am copying from the iPhone to the Mac (iPhone => Mac), it works 9/10 times; however, if I try to copy anything from the Mac to the iPhone (Mac => iPhone), it does not work, and one of three things happen:
- App will do a long pause, then do nothing.
- Offer the option to Paste but the paste is old data, not what was in the Clipboard to begin with.
- Do nothing.
Conversely, the iPhone and iPad both work seamlessly between each other with no issues using Handoff or Universal Clipboard (iPhone => iPad or iPad => iPhone); moreover, the iPad works seamlessly with the Mac (iPad => Mac, and Mac => iPad). The only hangup so far is between the iPhone and the Mac. I have tried the following troubleshooting steps (not necessarily in this order), and have not reached a solution.
- Reboot all devices, including the network router.
- Reset Network Settings on all iOS devices.
- Turn on/off Airplane Mode
- Sign out/in to iCloud
- Restore the iPhone as a new phone.
- Reinstall macOS Sierra
Incidentally, I've also tried toggling off/on Handoff on the Mac as well as with the iPhone, and it had no effect.
Many thanks, in advance.
