Q: i cant update my macbook pro from 10.6.to 10.7.

I can't update my macbook pro from 10.6.8 to 10.7. When I try to update, it states that it is updated already.

macpro 17, Mac OS X (10.6.6)

What specific MacBook Pro?
How to identify MacBook Pro models - Apple Support
Just how are you trying to "update"?
Did you purchase the Lion installer from the Mac App Store and are running that?
About this Mac does say 10.6.8, right?
Updating is like going from 10.6.2 to 10.6.8.
Upgrading is when yo go to another macOS version like 10.8 to 10.7.
