Q: Time Machine, Terminating app due to uncaught exception 'NSInvalidArgumentException'
I just noticed that Time Machine stopped backing up a few days ago. Running Disk Util ends error code 0. Time Machine Verify Backups ends ok. Rebooted, etc. No change. It just prepares for backup and then stops. Mac OS X 10.11.6. Any ideas as to what is going on?
Log file from console shows;

Thanks for that info and choosing the Apple Support Communities. I know how important being able to backup your Mac with Time Machine is to you! Based on what you stated, it seems you may be having issues with Time Machine not finishing backing up and just stops at the preparing for backup step. Since you have already tried restarting your Mac, I would recommend using safe mode to start up your Mac so that it performs certain checks, delete system cache files, verifies your startup disk, and attempts to repair directory issues if needed. Log into your user account and test the issue while in safe mode and then restart normally and test the issue again.
Try safe mode if your Mac doesn't finish starting up
Limited graphics performance in OS X recovery or safe mode
If your issue with Time Machine is still not resolved, I would recommend walking through the steps in this Apple article on Time Machine issues to help resolve your issue and get your Mac backing up again.
If you can't back up or restore your Mac using Time Machine
Cheers!
