Q: itunes can't see my phone

hi,

my iTunes will not detect my iphone7 in devices, I've tried re-installing iTunes several times and am running the latest up-to-date version. I've also done all my windows updates too, but to no avail. I want to backup my iPhone to my PC as well as iCloud, its driving me mad, so would really appreciate so help, thanks :-)
