Q: Iphoto and sd card

Why won't iPhoto recognize pics on my sd card?  I know it is not my card, as I bought a new one, and, also, my other computer recognizes it.  IPhoto knows there is a card, and it indicates it is "loading", but nothing happens.  I also tried Photos (although I always use IPhoto), but the message on Photos tells me that there are "no photos".

    Hi,

First you have to check or you see your SD card in your finder menu. If not: it could be a problem that is caused by the card reader or the formatting of the SD card. You'll have to launch Image Capture to see if it will recognize the card and the reader. If so, upload the content to a folder on your desktop. Now you will to reformat the card with your camera (mostly located in menu or settings on your camera). Take a couple of shots after reformatting and try again with iPhoto.

The pictures in the folder can be imported in iPhoto.

    Good luck!
