I'm really annoyed that I can't put a disc in this iMac. How stupid.

Apple stopped including optical drives in iMacs back in 2012.

You can pick up an inexpensive usb DVD drive quite easily.

New Macs haven't had cd/optical drives for awhile now. Did you not notice that it didn't when you purchased it?
