Q: How do I make my phone sync to iTunes after turning off iCloud Music Library?

I recently turned on Apple's iCloud Music Library and I had been using it happily for about a week or so. Well, I was happy until this morning when I tried to sync my newly downloaded music to my phone, only to realize it wouldn't. I looked it up and I learned that iCloud Music Library was the problem, so I turned it off.

Did it work? Did my phone begin to sync my music again? Absolutely not. What did it do instead? Delete my entire music library from my phone. I'm livid. All my songs are still in my iTunes library on my Mac, but it still won't sync the music with my phone. How do I make it so that my phone will just sync my music from iTunes again? I had never had trouble with anything Apple until now. I'm furious.

Also, I can't turn off iCloud Music Library on my Mac. There's no longer an option for that in the general preferences.

iPhone 6s, iOS 10.0.2

    Hello lmaoduck,

After reviewing your post, it sounds like you are not able to sync the iPhone with iTunes on the computer. You mentioned that it did not sync but not what the error was. There are a few things we can do to get you syncing again.  I would recommend you read these articles, they may be able to help troubleshoot the issue.

Get the latest version of iTunes

If it is not syncing the music connecting to the computer using USB you can try syncing through Wi-Fi.
Sync your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch with iTunes using Wi-Fi

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities. Have a nice day.

    Hello and thanks for replying,

I should have clarified, and for that I'm sorry. The phone itself DOES sync. If I hit sync in iTunes with my phone connected, it goes through the entire syncing process from step one to four in the upper bar. It just won't sync any of the new downloaded music in my iTunes Library to my iPhone. I have the latest version of iTunes and iOS, as well as my mac on the latest version of the MacOS.

I just want to put my music back on my phone from my iTunes Library, the way I did before I turned on iCloud Music Library for the first time...
