My ITV Player has stopped playing content properly on through Airplay on my Apple TV through my iPad app.
It plays the adverts but once the program starts it only plays sound no video. All software is up to date... normally i've had to mirror but this literally stopped in the middle of a program and won't play any more.
Bizarrely though it plays fine through my iPad....
MacBook Air, iOS 7.0.4
Can you double check that it's all up to date, there is no ITV Player anymore, it's been replaced by ITV Hub.
Thanks yes you're correct it is actually ITV Hub now but still all up to date....
I'm not able to replicate your problem. Try the following steps, check whether things are working after each step where appropriate, before trying the next.
If you are still having problems, try using 802.11n for wifi if you are currently using either 802.11b or 802.11g.
If your problem is AirPlaying from a computer, try disabling bluetooth

I also Have exactly this issue ever since upgrade on iPad to 10.0.2. BBC iPlayer and All4 app work fine - but they do have Airplay control within the App.
ITV hub plays adverts fine (video and sound) at start of programme when on Airplay through Apple TV but only plays sound when programme content starts. If you disable AirPlay, then start the programme on the iPad, and then return to Airplay programme will play with video for about 10 seconds, then goes black with sound only.
HAve yet to find a solution. Will add it here if I do.

Thanks - at least someone else has the same issue as me. This is exactly how mine is.... I've messaged ITVHub too who also don't seem to understand why there is the issue.
Same issue here, all working fine until about 2 weeks ago.
Play's intro then sound only when mirroring, all software is up to date, on the same network, cleared cache etc. Just getting a black screen.
We did delete the App and reinstall, this allowed one program to play then it went back to the black screen.
All fine before the IOS update.
Somewhat strange, I was an early adopter of 10.0.2 and couldn't repeat this problem at first, now I can, possibly just a bit more involved that the iOS update on its own, but who knows, we may need to wait for an app update.
Possibly, either that or an Apple TV software update. The app works fine when playing on the IPad, the issue is only when you mirror.
it will play the ITV Intro and commercials, when th show starts the screen is black and we get sound.
The ITV help page now says the following.
AirPlay Mirroring
This is not currently available using the ITV Hub.
That doesn't really provide anymore information than we already know though, it doesn't tell us if it's intentional or if not what caused it or what it will require to fix it.
The official reply from ITV is below.
"Unfortunately Apple TV or any other casting facilities is something that is not fully supported by the ITV Hub, which would explain why you are running into problems, even if it were working previously."
I think it's something ITV have done!
If you play a program from a few weeks ago it works fine , it's only recent videos that aren't working.
Hopefully ITV one day will properly support airplay rather than using screen mirroring!
I am glad I came across this as I now know it's not just my set up.
Ads show fine! Surprise! But programmes are blacked out.
