crazy rainbow screen on startup. New iMac with Sierra os

I have a new iMac (21 inch, late 2015, version 10.2, purchased 3 months ago), with Sierra OS. Recently, when I started up I got a crazy rainbow screen. The only way to correct it was to shut down and restart. Since then, when starting up, at the screen with the apple, the apple is pixelated and red for one second before it goes back to normal. Is this a sign of trouble? Has anyone else experienced this? Thanks for any advice.

Please read the warranty paperwork that came w/your computer.

You have 14 days from the date of purchase to return the computer w/no questions asked.

You have 90 days of FREE phone tech support on top of your standard 1 year warranty unless you also purchased AppleCare which gives you an additional 2 years of coverage plus FREE phone support.

Strongly suggest that you take FULL advantage of the above before it runs out.

Let Apple deal w/the problems & your concerns. It's what you paid them to do.

I spent 2 hours chatting with Apple Help, and they had me run many diagnostics but nothing worked so I am now scheduled next week to take my desktop (!) into the nearest Apple Authorized Dealer. I will report back with any fixes/solutions. I haven't had the crazy rainbow display but still get the red/green apple logo at startup every time.
