Q: Adobe acrobat update - but no acrobat on my iMac

Hello,

I have a message keep popping up - "An Adobe Acrobat update is available that requires your permission to install". I don't have any Adobe software on my mac. Could it be a virus? I can´t get rid of it. I have various PDF readers (all from the App Store I think) but no Adobe ones.

iMac, OS X El Capitan (10.11)

It's not a virus, but it is a scam. Stop visiting dodgy web sites.

Any idea how to delete it? I can't get it off the screen and have to force close it to shut the mac down.

Please read Beware bogus Adobe Flash "installers". Although it uses Adobe Flash Player as its example, any other popular product can be an equally large target for such scams.
