Q: Turning On a Turn Off

After an update last week, turning on my iPad has become a chore because I've got to hit the home button twice before entering my code. Is it possible go back to the old boot up?

iPad Air, iOS 8.1

No, there is no swipe to unlock feature in iOS 10. On devices without fingerprint recognition the new method is to press the home button twice.

Hi. You can swipe to access the Today page and select an app on it. This will bring up the passcode keypad, then the app. If you enable Siri Suggestions, you get a mini-chooser of recent apps.

No, Apple has never supported or provided a mechanism to downgrade iOS.

Thanks for the inputs guys, but since I activated the upgrade in error, and have no intention of being railroaded by Apple or any other any multinational, this iPad is being skipped.
