Q: WiFi keeps disconnecting on iMac

Hi there,

Upgraded to Sierra and since that time my WiFi keeps disconnecting.  There is no apparent reason, no specific time limit.

Any ideas, please, on what to check?  I have gone through the network settings, and security settings, and I don't see anything in network settings that can be changed, nothing seems to be out of place.  I changed the screensaver/power settings to a longer time but no change there either, still can disconnect after a few minutes.  It is truly random.

Thanks!

iMac, macOS Sierra (10.12), 3.4 GHz i7. 4 GB RAM, 1 GB Video

Might be corrupted network preferences. It can happen after an upgrade.

Open the Finder. From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder

Type or copy paste the following:

    /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration

Click Go then move all the files in the SystemConfiguration folder to the Trash.

Restart your Mac. See if that makes a difference.

Your Mac will generate a new SystemConfiguration folder for you.

    Hi there,

Tried your suggestion as outlined.  Sorry to report no change.  Still have the same disconnect problem.
