When i receive and JUST when i receive a recent notification, and i try to go down, i still see an very old notification and i cannot remove it ... with the iPhone 6s i can force touch on it and "answer" but it still there and don't close.

Thanks,

This issue has been around since I bought my iPhone 7 plus and it is still occurring currently on iOS 10.2.1

The bug seem to occur frequently if large amount of notifications are stacked in the control panel. It's old notifications not clearing away and stay visible in the background. Clear all notifications will temporarily remove them although they will reappear after new notifications pop up. They will be covered by new notifications and unless a restart or force reboot is used they will not be cleared. User uploaded file

Hey simke414,

I can understand how this odd issue would be concerning. I can give you a few steps that may help you resolve this issue.

First thing i would try is to tap on "Settings -> Notifications" then turn off notifications for Messenger then turn them back on.

If that does not resolve the issue I would then restart the phone. You may find the steps outlined in the following article helpful:

Restart your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

These two steps will typically resolve the issue.

Cheers.
