Q: After IOS 10.0.2 iPhoto doesn't open and doesn't load photos

After updating my iPhone 6S with IOS 10.0.2, iPhoto that automatically would open when connecting the iPhone to my iMac through a Lightning cable, doesn't do that anymore. I have to open iPhoto manually and the photos in the phone take a lot of time to load, sometimes more than one hour. My iMac runs Yosemite (10.9.5) and my iPhoto version is 9.5.1

Thanks in advance for any suggestion/help   Paulo

OS X Mavericks (10.9.5), Intel Core 2 Duo 2.4GHz, 3 GB RAM, 232 GB HD, plus 2800 GB exte

    iMac runs Yosemite (10.9.5)

Is the version number correct?  10.9.5 would be the last version of Mavericks and not Yosemite. And iPhoto 9.5.1 would not run on Yosemite. You would need to update to to iPhoto 9.6.1.

Have you updated to the newest version of iTunes? You need iTunes 12.1 installed to be able to sync an iPhone with iOS 10.0.2 with your Mac.  Try, if updating iTunes to the newest version will fix this. In the iPhoto Preferences > General check, if the option "Connecting a Camera opens" is till set to "iPhoto":

Hi léonie, thanks for the promptness and you're right, it's Mavericks, I did a confusion.

My iTunes version is 12.5.1.21 and yes, iPhoto is set to "iPhoto"

    Thanks and regards   Paulo
