Q: iPhone 6s TouchId Reset

Woke up to my phone home button not being responsive and phone not turning on. After a minute it suddenly flashed on and worked fine except I now get am getting a notification that Touch ID had been reset. Going to my settings i see my fingerprints have disappeared, and trying to set it up again I get a message saying "Unable to activate Touch ID on this phone". Just tried to restore to an old backup taken a couple of days ago now and in the setup it skips over touch id saying "Failed to complete TouchID setup".  Just wondering if anyone else is experiencing this, or anyone might know the cause?
