loose lightening fitting

My iPhone 6 charger cable falls out all the time and is not a tight fitting.

The slightest wobble makes it stop charging. I don't understand how this can be a plausible stereo headphone port replacement on iPhone 7.

It would seem the design is not "deep" enough and requires a more secure "clipping" system.

It is a bad connector with a truly limited lifespan which doesn't maintain a secure fitting unlike the mini stereo jack fitting which even if the iPhone drops out of a pocket will stay connected even with some force and has many times saved my iPhone with a dangle from a fall.

I have the same problem. I used a toothpick to clean out the charging port, and found what I can only describe as a small cat in there. The pocket lint was horrible. As soon as I cleaned out the port, my cable fit snugly again and no more problems.

Sounds like either the socket or the cable (or both) is defective. If it is constantly falling out and not properly connecting, then something is clearly wrong. If you can get access to another phone you could at least try it on that, which would give some indication as to whether the issue is with the cable or the phone. Is it still under warranty?
