iPhone connection to streamer pro

I use hearing aids and connect via a Stremer Pro to my iPhone 5 and since the upgrade to IOS 10, my streamer loses connection and drops calls mid way through a conversation. They caller can hear me, but I can't hear them. The problem apple say is to do with the streamer and not apple? I don't know if anyone else is having this problem?

Thanks Jonathan,

There are no firmware updates available as running on the latest software for the streamer. It is the constant updates from apple that have caused the issue, although I am told that the application has not changed on the iPhone.

All of your other suggestions I have done, I have only an streamer connected via bluetooth and have disconnected, repaired on several occasions over the last week. The iPhone at least stays connected to the streamer, but I miss calls as the phone doesn't tell the streamer that I am being called, and the then mid way through a conversation it either disconnects or the person the other end can hear me but I can't hear them.

It is all very disconcerting and used to work perfectly, and as a deaf man I rely on this as my method of communication.

Check that you have tried these steps:

  • On your iPhone:
    • Go to: Settings > Bluetooth > tap on the "i" icon next to the Streamer Pro > choose Forget this Device.
    • Turn Bluetooth off.
    • Turn your iPhone off.
  • On your Streamer Pro:
    • Hold the power button and the volume up button down until the blue light turns to a solid green light, then release the buttons.
    • Turn the Streamer Pro off.
  • Restart your iPhone and re-enable Bluetooth.
  • Restart your Streamer Pro.
  • Pair the devices again.

You may find the following article helpful in explaining why such issues can arise; it discusses Oticon Streamer Pro in some detail.

The article also explains why Apple and others implement changes to Bluetooth protocols over time and how third-party vendors should issue firmware and/or software updates, as required, in order to maintain product functionality:
