Q: Can you shut this verification function off? I have several apple devices and this is kind of annoying. Especially if a family member is using a device at a different location.

Verification code two factor authentication. Is there a way to shut this verification off? I have several apple devices that use the same Apple ID and it's very frustrating, especially if a family member is using one of the devices at a different location.

See the following from Two-factor authentication for Apple ID - Apple Support

To turn off two-factor authentication, sign in to your Apple ID account page and click Edit in the Security section. Then click Turn Off Two-Factor Authentication. After you create new security questions and verify your date of birth, two-factor authentication will be turned off.
