Display Resolution?

Has anybody experiencing the grainy / shimmering display on the MBP C2D 15" Matte had a satisfactory resolution yet?

I'll take that a resounding 'NO' then?

Update on the story so far:

Apple have said the screen should be replaced in a 'hope' the grainy effect will be rectified by a refurbished replacement screen - refurbished on a 5 week old machine? I ask you.

Apple reseller offered to replace the MBP C2D 15" display, but could not guarantee a replacement would rectify the grainy effect on the screen.

Apple reseller has offered to buy the MBP C2D back £100 less than I paid for it (partial refund) towards a replacement 17" MBP C2D.

I went out today and studied the MacBook 13" screen, the MacBook Pro 15" C2D screen and the 17" MBP CD screen - no 17" MBP C2D's on display anywhere I could find. (All units side by side so easy to make a direct comparison).

Results: MacBook screen is pin sharp. MacBook Pro 17" CD screen is pin sharp but not as bright as the C2D screen. MacBook Pro 15" C2D screen is grainy on all the examples I've seen.

New question:

Is the MBP C2D 17" Screen grainy like the 15" MBP C2D?

i have a MBP 17" C2D and I've read a lot of these posts about screen graininess. to be honest I never really knew what people meant by graininess, so I guess it must be more of a 15" thing. I mean, I know what people mean, I can imagine it, but I can't really say that looking at my screen I really notice anything like that. talk to me about unven backlighting though. that I notice, I think I'd probably still notice it even if I were blind.
