I see that you are unable to scan images after updating to macOS Sierra. I checked HP's website and it doesn't look like there is a driver available yet for macOS 10.12. However, here are some troubleshooting steps that I would start with when experiencing issues scanning.

Oct 20, 2016 3:24 PM in response to B&Eby Skiman_13,Look for HP Easy Scan in the App Store. The app will allow you to scan to your computer.
