Q: image capture does not recognize HP C7180 scanner after upgrading to Sierra

My HP C7180 All-in-One worked fine in scanner mode with image capture until I upgraded to OS Sierra. Now image capture will not recognize the scanner at all. I have made sure that I have the most current HP printer drivers installed as well. It still works fine as a printer, just not able to scan a document via image capture.

MacBook Pro (17-inch Late 2011), OS version 10.12

    Hello B&E,

I see that you are unable to scan images after updating to macOS Sierra.  I checked HP's website and it doesn't look like there is a driver available yet for macOS 10.12.  However, here are some troubleshooting steps that I would start with when experiencing issues scanning.

    macOS Sierra: Scanning troubleshooting

If these steps did not resolve the issue, I would recommend reaching out to HP for further assistance.  Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.

    Cheers.

Look for HP Easy Scan in the App Store. The app will allow you to scan to your computer.

    Be well
