Q: Retrieving previous Time Machine back-Up disk

Hi, Today I have had to proceed to a Soft Reset of My Time Capsule as mentioned theoretically there .
Now I would like to re-use the previous Time Machine Back-Up disk I used before the incident.
I launch Time Machine, and I have to choose another Backup Disk because the previous remains unreachable.

But will a new one contain the previous back-Ups ?

I'm afraid to loose previously made back-Ups.

How to proceed exactly ?

The new Time Machine disk will not contain your previous backups from the old disk. When you set up Time Machine it will make a complete backup of your iMac to your new disk. From that point forward it will add new backups based on files that have changed since your last backup. If your backup disk runs out of room it will delete the oldest backup to gain disk space.
