Connect LaCie USB-C drive to iPhone

Hello everyone!

I recently bought the LaCie porsche design mobile USB-C 2TB version. All of a sudden an idea popped into my head. I remembered that the apple store sells a USB-C <-> lightning cable, which basically means I can connect my 2TB hard disk to my iPhone hardware wise. Is there any software/app supporting things like this? It would be rather awesome to be able to watch films etc. stored on the hard drive on my iPhone. I've been looking around and it seems most external iPhone storage only works for photo/video backups. There used to be an app called eDownloader, which allowed you to store and view downloaded files from the web browser. It would be great to have access to my drive from my iPhone 🙂
