How do I make my imovie video 50mb?

I have a school project that I had to do. I needed to make a movie about an average day in my life, and so I did it on imovie on my macbook pro. I have to send it in through my school's website which can only take files that are MP4 and are 50MB or less. Right now, my file is an MP4 but it is about 98MB. Is there a simple way that I can understand on how to make it 50MB or less without ruining the movie or making it shorter? Thanks. P.s. I am not a very technical person who is very good at confusing technical words and I am just a person with no knowledge on this stuff.

MacBook Pro, OS X El Capitan (10.11.6), help

When you shared out, did you try selecting "Custom" quality and moving the slider as far to the right as you could? If not, try that and then check the size of the video.

Another thing you can try is to share it out as an "Email" under the "Small" setting. After it shares out, an Email address box window will pop up with your video in it. Depending on your email provider's limitations on file size, you may not be able to send it to yourself. But, you may be able to drag the video to your desk top and then you could check its size, which hopefully will be smaller than your previous effort.

If nothing is working, you may need to do some selective editing by shortening some of the clips by a few seconds here and there. There is no movie that can't be edited down a little bit more, and it may even make it better.

Only other thing that I can think of is to use the free download, MPEG Streamclip to reduce the size of the vid. If you go that route and need directions, post back. It's a little bit more teckie.
