cant seem to get them to pair. They come up in the list of devices but then I get a message saying "pairing unsuccessful"
I'd appreciate any help

An iPhone and iPad are not meant to be paired via Bluetooth.
Assuming you are attempting to connect via bluetooth, there is no supported protocol to do so. What are you hoping to accomplish by pairing?
