Q: Enable or disable Emergency SOS feature?

iOS 10 has this feature within Location Services (Privacy, System Services).

There has not been any clear indication what this feature does per se. Some suggest that it works with Apple watch only.  I don't have an Apple watch so should it be disabled?

Without an Apple watch, the setting actually does nothing, so yes, you can simply disable it.  In fact, other than find my iphone, you do not need to leave any of those system services enabled.  None are necessary for your iPhone to function normally as they are all opt-in services.  Technically, even find my iphone is your choice to leave on or not, but of course if you turn that one off, you cannot track your lost phone remotely, nor is activation lock active, so I would encourage leaving that one setting on at least.  The others are your choice.
