Q: iOS 10.0.3 Problems

Installed IOS 10.0.3 in my iPhone 7Plus on the T-Mobile network. Absolutely didn't help anything. Most of the time, if I am away from home the phone just sits there spinning searching for the T-Mobile network. If it does connect, no matter which one of their networks (E, G, LTE) it cannot open a webpage the majority of the time. At times you cannot even make a phone call. What's next another upgrade or a carrier upgrade? Tried all the little tricks on the Internet and they do not help. The problem is the same on my wife's.

    Hi gnwees,

I understand that you are having some cellular connection issues on your iPhone 7 Plus. I know it's important to have a reliable connection, so I'm happy to help.

Do you have these connection issues everywhere?

Make sure you've gone through the troubleshooting outlined here:

I've been through all these different games, I have talked to T-Mobile's iPhone specialist and was able to tell them more about the phone model than they knew. I even recently made a drive from Oakland California out to Castro Valley California and during that time could not even make a phone call because the phone could not find the network. I now even have screenshots of when I was setting in t-Mobile store that shows the phone looking for IOS updates with the network on five bars of LTE and it couldn't complete the search for any updates and it's asking to retry our cancel. Even though you may get connected to the network it's questionable if it'll work. The 10.0.3 update along with its update to the firmware the modem did exactly zero to improve the problem on the T-Mobile network. It may fixed the problems that Verizon was having but it doesn't looked as done anything for T-Mobile. I got the phones two weeks ago approximately and they have not worked right since the start, even having t-Mobile new Sim cards and all. The phones are on the jumped lease plan the T-Mobile house even if I wanted to exchange it with him they have no phones to exchange it with. It's a good thing you don't need to call 911 on them because you'd be in deep trouble. The only time they work consistently is when it shows t-Mobile Wi-Fi where it is going cross my router and Internet at home are someone else's. There of them times when I message would not work and I'd have to use texting instead. The biggest thing about this issue is is anybody working on a fix are communicating between Apple and T-Mobile to get this problem fixed. As I said in my first post my wife's new phone also has the same problem no different. Also most the time if the phone shows that is connected to t-Mobile's network most of the time it's showing G not LTE and sometimes even E. At this point I don't know to raise more **** with T-Mobile or Apple since no one is saying we are working on it or we don't know. The next question is does T-Mobile need to do a carrier update or not who knows.

    gnwees,

    Thanks for the additional information.

When you set up these iPhones, did you restore them from a backup of a previous iPhone?

If so, then let's reset your network settings. Doing this won't erase any content, but it will reset your Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and other network settings. To do this, go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings

If you continue to have issues, you may want to restore your iPhone as new so that you can eliminate the possibility of it being a software issue. This article explains further:

How to erase your iOS device and then set it up as a new device or restore it from backups

If you have any further concerns you may find more information by using another one of Apple's support resources:

Just to let you know, about the time you sent this reply I noticed a change in my connectivity. The LTE band started working better. It became easier to get a connection. This basically tells me, there was a problem with the carrier's equipment or software for their equipment. Nothing was changed to the phone and all a once everything started to improve. They still have a couple issues with the lower bands but overall a lot better. These type of problems are always related to the IOS to the modem's firmware to the modem to the antenna to the carrier's cell site and equipment. They're not related generally to installations or apps. For now I am going to focus on the carrier if there're still issues since it looks like issues are at their end.
