Intellilink doesn't stay off when answering phone

When receiving incoming calls in my 2012 Buick Verano, the radio shuts off when the call comes in but as soon as I answer it the radio comes back on making it impossible obviously to have a conversation. The caller only hears the radio on his/her end. I updated to 10.0.2 and spouse did not. His phone works fine in the car.
