Q: Download Apple Music on Mac for Offline Listening then Sync to iPod

Hi Guys,

I have over 4000 songs in my iCloud library, which are synced with my Mac, iPod, iPad and iPhone.

Since I wanted to have Apple Music for offline Listening on all my devices I was given to understand that I need to download the songs on each device separately. ( this I understood from one of the topics in this forum ) Insane actually.

Last year I had downloaded songs from Apple Music on my iPod and they disappeared after the software update. Over the next few months I did not update the software and kept the process of downloading Apple Music for Offline Listening.

I skipped about 2 software updates after which the iPod started misbehaving, I gave in and updated the software and BooM all the offline songs disappeared. There started the painful journey of re-downloading all the songs. It was easier then, since I downloaded them by genre. ( Still Painful though )

Now after the iOS 10 update about a month back, the offline songs disappeared again and now I am having to download them all over...

Is there any way by which these songs can be backed up ? or is there a way that I download Apple Music for offline listening through iTunes on my Mac and then sync them to any of the apple devices I want to listen to them on ?

The downloading process is painful, not sure what Apple has to do with Data operators, but all said and done downloading 60 Gigs of data every other month is by no way easy. Also considering that data whether through Cellular or Wifi does not come cheap in some countries.

Save us some effort please and any advise to me would be appreciable.

Thanks

iPod touch (6th generation), iOS 10.0.2
