Hi, I'm looking forward to buy the new AirPods as soon as they come out but only if I can use them in the gym, since it is 99% of the time that I use earphones.
Will they be sweat proof?
No! This happen to mine and Apple is saying it’s not covered. I’ve had them less than a month!!! Waste of time waiting for this product!!

Apple does not describe AirPods as being sweat resistant.
You may prefer to consider, for example, Powerbeats3 Wireless Earphones, which are sweat and water resistant:

I understand, I also like the AirPods more because of their non-in ear format, that I found more comfortable and the clever box that charges them, also they look more professional outside the gym so I could have only one product for multiple uses.
Saying a product is water resistant is one thing, saying it's sweat is another. Chemically these are two different compounds, one is or should be clean liquid, the other is liquid waste which can contaminate and break down the case material and electronics in the headphones.
