Q: for some reason the arrow that one clicks on to send an e-mail the one that is usually located in the upper left side of my e-mail is missing. Help!!

The arrow you click on to send a typed message in e-mail disappeared.  I can't send a message!  what could have happened? help!

MacBook Pro with Retina display, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.2)

    Hey there, elamadi!


    Thanks for reaching out via the Apple Support Communities. After reading your post, I understand that you are not seeing the send paper airplane in the upper left of your composed e-mails, so you're unable to send your messages. I rely on e-mail every day, so I know how important it is for it to work. I'm happy to help!


    First, try quitting the Mail app and then relaunching it while holding the Shift key on the left-hand side of your keyboard. Once you've done that, try sending an e-mail. 


    If you still don't see the send option, try restarting your Mac by clicking the Apple  menu and selecting "Restart..." from the drop down. Once the computer is back on, try sending an e-mail.


    Should the send option still not be visible, I can also recommend Control + clicking the Toolbar (where the send option should be) and selecting "Customize toolbar". See if the send option is listed in the items section. If so, drag it back to the Toolbar. 


    Lastly, if you don't see the send option in the "Customize toolbar", I would suggest restarting your Mac into safe mode. You can get more information on safe mode, as well as how to get into safe mode, here: Try safe mode if your Mac doesn‘t finish starting up

    Even though the title of the article isn't exactly the same as your issue, safe mode is still a good step to take. During boot, safe mode will run a scan of your system, and will also disable certain software and processes that could be causing conflict. Once there, check out whether you can send in safe mode, make note of the results, then restart and try again.
