Q: Repair Magic Trackpad 2

Hi every one,

My Magic Trackpad 2 suddenly stop working - it always can be charged and connected wirelessly with my iMac but can not control the pointer. It's always under warranty, since I bought it on Nov. 22, 2015.

The purchase had been made from Apple Online Store in Japan, and I'm now in Vietnam so I have two questions:

1/ Since I bought online, I don't have the receipt, could I use the e-mails received from Apple Store ("order acknowledgment" and "shipping notification", where are indicated the order number, date of delivery) for proof of purchase?

2/ Can i bring my Trackpad to an Apple Authorized Service Provider in Vietnam or I have to send it to Japan para an repair?

Thanks very much for your help,

Potential sources of Wi-Fi and Bluetooth interference - Apple Support

I believe that if the trackpad was supplied with a greater purchase like an iMac, everything in the box is covered.   Proof of purchase should be in the registration details; having applecare would be an advantage too.

But as the genius bars ought to test the trackpad anyway, it a should not be a problem.   But it may be that you are experiencing local interference of some kind so read the above Apple document and follow through the advice first.

    Thanks seventy one.

I did not buy the trackpad with the iMac but after it, so it has its own warranty and Apple don't accept registration of accessories.

I will try turn of other bluetooth devices but I don't think it's an interference problem, since the connection between the trackpad and the iMac is stable.

Just a thought.  If you have a Wacom tablet and / or pen in the vicinity, they can be trouble makers.

Definitively, I think my Magic Trackpad has something broken inside, its battery drained empty during the night even I turned it off!

The battery drain situation differs from your original question.   Then it should go back.   As Apple no longer registers peripherals, make sure you have print copies of your on-line order with you. Try Vietnam first.  You may need to double check with Apple support as you are perilously near the borderline of the warranty.

    Thanks a lot Seventy one.

I saw Apple Authorized Service Provider in Vietnam today and showed them print copies of my online order (order acknowledgment; delivery notification) but ... , as theses documents no content the device's serial number, they don't know what to do with my case!!!

Is there an e-mail adresse where I could contact the Apple support? I tried the website but did not find how to obtain an e-mail adresse for help.

    Hello Prusten;

As serial numbers are no longer relevant, it looks like they are being deliberately unhelpful.

eMail addresses for Apple are hard to get unless you are approached from Apple support.  Although you have some contact this is the Apple support start page for Vietnam ...

    Official Apple Support

Japan looks a little more approachable.   Here is their start page ...

    http://www.apple.com/jp/store/english/

I'm crossing my fingers these come out for you, sometimes links of this nature revert to a general Apple support page.

As a final option, use Google and ask for support pages for particular countris.   This is what I did here.

Thank you for the help star.

    Wow, thanks thanks thanks,

you are a genius, really. If Apple Store Japan could tell me in English something like: bring it to Apple Authorized Service Provider in Vietnam and the order/delivery confirmation e-mail are valides it will be a great help!

Hope I can report good news in a few days,

    Thanks again,
