Q: Trying to switch IMAP to POP
Yes, I am one of those neanderthals that wants to stick with POP.
A few months ago, my email account stopped working on my iPhone 6+. The phone would only download mail for about 15 minutes before putting the message in the trash although I had not read it. The phone would then just delete messages at random.
I've had the phone replaced.
I've reinstalled the mail account again, and still no success. I know that bellsouth (att) emails belong to Yahoo (which has been no help).
I have a 2009 Macbook Pro, a 2013 MacBook Air, and an Mini iPad. Each one of these devices identifies a different server for the same email account. The 2009 computer has it as a POP account, the 2013 computer has it as an IMAP, the iPad has it as a POP account, and the phone has it as a IMAP.
How do I get them all to be a POP account?
iPhone 6 Plus, iOS 10.0.3

I would suggest you reach out to Yahoo. This is not something we can help you with here.
If you have the numbers and they don't "work", it may be that Yahoo no longer supports POP.
See >> https://help.yahoo.com/kb/SLN4724.html
Apple provides a settings lookup tool at https://www.apple.com/support/mail-settings-lookup/
but when I enter a Yahoo address, I am not given any POP settings.
