Oct 19, 2016 5:53 PMby JeanFL,My monitor does not have a DVI adapter. That's why I was asking if a VGA to DVI adaptor would give out the 1920. Now that I know that 1080p is the same as 1920x1080, I wish they would have explained that under the using hdmi faq. It made it seem like they were different.

Note for the future, monitors may have DVI inputs, not outputs. Computers output video signals to monitors, not the other way around.
VGA is analog, an old standard used by old non digital CRT monitors and cheap LCD monitors.

Press and hold the Option key and then click n the scaled line in Display Properties
