I can't understand how to turn off auto correct for Message on Macbook air . when i turn it off it only turned off for safari I have the latest version of El capitan

Messages > Edit > Spelling & Grammar > Correct Spelling Automatically
Deselect "Correct Spelling Automatically", if enabled.
